Lishe Accelerator II

Lishe Startup Accelerator is a program to accelerate Tanzania's nutrition sensitive SMEs to be investor ready.

The Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Business Network, in collaboration with key partners, has launched the second edition of the SUN Pitch Competition for 2019/2020, with the theme ‘Rethinking Nutrition Innovations’.

The competition will support innovative solutions for improved nutrition by connecting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in emerging markets with technical assistance and investment opportunities.

Why Are We Doing This?

Objectives

  • Develop a pipeline of quality ‘nutrition investments’ in Africa and Asia that can be linked to local and international investors and technical assistance providers.
  • Leverage local and global strategic partnerships that can increase the reach of SBN’s partnerships.
  • Position SBN as the local and regional coordinating mechanism for private sector investment in nutrition in Africa and Asia.

Our Program

Timeline

  1. Launching and Opening The Call Launching of the pitching competition and opening the call for application for SMEs in the SUN network and outside the network
  2. Screening and Selection Screening and selection of the 20 SMEs that will join the boot camp (intensive investor readiness training)
  3. Bootcamp Conducting the investor readiness training to the 20 selected participants. Also, linking the participants with potential local partners and investors
  4. Pitching Session and Follow Up Support Organizing a pitching day (Demo Day) to select 5 participants who will receive post-boot camp support and be prepared for the global event
  5. Final Pitching Session Final pitching event to select one winner who will represent the country in the main event in Singapore
